OK, so the LA Times editorial section used the term "Jihad" to describe the FCC's censoring of
Saving Private Ryan this year.
Now, I'm reading the beginnings of Lakoff's Don't Think of an Elephant and wondering how much we need to overlay everything related to the Bush misadminstration's creeping Facism with that practiced by Al Qaeda, and how effective is that?
Is that playing into the Conservative frame or not?
Quick bit extra below the fold.
Also, I continue to search for examples where Progressive framing is the buzz of the town, so I want to please ask you to give me some illustrations. One of my favorite current frames are the new websites such as
We're not sorry dot com and
Apologies Accepted dot com, both of which sprung up in reaction to
Sorry Everybody dot com.
I wonder if we can keep the lead on some of this?
Apologizing on behalf of others certainly puts us in the frame of the embarassed relative, one who is obviously sane, and giving a wink to the person we are apologizing to. I really like it, and like how it raised the hackles of the wingnuts at werenotsorry.com.
