Yes, that Steven Seagal.
Way back in '93, right before Mr. Seagal's career went into free fall, he starred in and directed a movie called "On Deadly Ground".
At the time, I thought it was one of the worst movies I'd ever seen.
Apparently, a lot of people agreed as it was rated a "00" on Rotten Tomatoes! As a matter of fact, it was so bad that I couldn't even give it the "so bad it's good" stamp of approval.
The plot centers around Mr. Seagals efforts to blow up a giant oil rig owned by "Aegis" corporation before it goes online and fouls the environment.
This rig has been built on the holy ground of the Inuit people in Alaska of all places, and Mr. Seagal has it on good intel that this rig is defective. As a result, he goes on a one man mission to destroy it before it's too late.
Wait, it gets better. The evil CEO of Aegis is english actor Michael Caine!
Along the way, mercs dispatched by Aegis end up torturing and killing an Aegis whistleblower who was feeding Seagal info about the defective rig.
At the time, I thought this was the most preposterous movie I'd ever seen.
I think I'll go watch it again.
