The
Bode Technology Group is a company that does blood tests for various law enforcement agencies. Last week, the Illinois State Police dropped this company's services because the company had botched about 22% of rape kits it received.
Evidently, the lab had a problem detecting semen in blood samples. The lab thus produced a huge number of false negatives, potentially allowing guilty people to get off the hook.
The interesting part? The IL State Police's action will surely lead to other states reviewing Bode's work. After all, Bode does work for 11 other states, along with the Federal gov't. They are also owned by ChoicePoint, a company better known for screwing Black Floridians out of their right to vote in 2000.
Also, they're known for allowing a hacker to steal hundreds of thousands of identities earlier this year.
Plus, the SEC is investigating them for questionable stock sales last fall, and heaven knows what else.
These guys have botched their way into multiple government contracts; they are in the business of messing with your privacy; they screwed with an election; they have probably engaged in financial shenanigans; they funnel cash to the GOP; and they've probably been letting rapists run wild. When are these Republicans going to get tough on crime?
