It apparently escapes the notice of some here that there actually are some Democrats of courage in the Senate. Rather than going on about how the Democratic Party has let us down and how we should supposedly stop donating to the Democrats (are these Republican plants posting this absurdity?), what we SHOULD be doing is giving more money to Howard Dean at the DNC, more money to Barbara Boxer's PAC For A Change, etc. etc.
These people are fighting the good fight. Yes, the battle line collapsed when a bunch of cowards fled, but don't hold it against the ones who stuck their necks out on our behalf just to take a beating once again. They should get nothing but praise and support from us for doing the right thing. Don't hold them responsible for the cowards around them, whom they have no control over.
We need to rebuild the Democratic Party, and that won't happen unless we "support the troops" fighting for us in Congress.
Don't support the DINO's, the cowards, but support the Democrats fighting on our behalf. If we withdraw our support, it will mean that the DINO's were right. That the grassroots is not worth listening to. That it's more important to satisfy corporate constituents.
I'm going to put my money where my mouth is and start a regular donation to Barbara Boxer's PAC For A Change. I already have a $30 Democracy Bond.
Wars are not won overnight. Sometimes, a defeat can be the presage to overall victory. Let's all "Remember Alito!" as we move forward, not backward in the "war" to take our country back and make it great once again.
