In his
interview with Larry King, Bush said that he doesn't think that many Americans are angry with him over what he has done to this country.
Bush also said he thinks the characterisation of the American electorate as angry, uncivil and bitterly polarised is an overstatement, based on what he has seen travelling the country.
"I think there may be handfuls of people that are very emotional, but I think by far the vast majority of Americans are wanting to know whether they're going to be able to work and whether or not the government's doing its job of protecting the country," he said. "I don't have a sense there's a lot of anger."
Perhaps if Bush performed his campaign speeches for larger audiences and didn't sequester dissenters into unconstitutional Free Speech zones, he would know just how many angry people there are. Perhaps if he didn't stifle the free press with his draconian attitude towards them he would know just how angry people are. Perhaps if he showed a little curiosity about the people he governed he would know how angry we are.
At least now we know why Rove is scheduling Bush for areas rich in his base instead of going after swing voters. He doesn't want Bush to know that there are people out here who are upset by his lack of leadership and are angry with him for the harm he has caused the country.
Let Bush know that your angry with him. That is why we need to protest the GOP and their convention. That is why we need to make our voices hear in the mainstream media. That is why it is important to be heard.
After him saying that he doesn't think that there are many people angry with him, protests in NY have much more reason to be there and be heard. We need to send a message to the President and the nation that there are many people who are fed up and we want the direction of our nation to change.
