Dean post-mortems are all the rage now. But the new politics is still here, and so are we. I would suggest people look at Congress - and ask themselves what will happen if the Republicans are allowed to stone wall for 2 years while the deficit burns. Or consider how an incoming Democrat, hoping to rebalance the judiciary after years of right wing trench war fare, will be tied down by Republicans intent on getting another chance to pack the court.
Winning means winning congress. Winning means winning the debate. The next President will have to come to the internet to govern, and the parties can already see that there is a donor base here on the internet.
Maturing technologies change politics - but to no small extent, because they create channels for poliiticians who otherwise would not have risen to prominence.
We are still learning the rules of this medium, but the economic trends that have put us here, will find others as well.
