Every night, we who post Top Comments open the Gmail inbox at TopComments AT gmail DOT com to see our "gifts" - comments of the day as chosen by you. Some days are diamonds, and we get lots of comments. The best of days, our submitters also tell us who they are and why they liked the comment they are submitting. We really like that.
Like I always say, we could not do Top Comments without you.
Yup, it's Friday, and I'm feeling fluffy. Very fluffy since I got on the scale today. ACK!! But that is most certainly NOT the kind of fluff I wish to discuss, or, heaven forbid, view, so here you go.
Last week, I was trying to work in my office. I was clearing the desk, handling items as I got to them in the sedimentary layers of paper. Naturally, this necessitated my making a few folders for the file cabinet, so that I will be able to find these papers again with minimal angst.
Enter my little "helper", Pumpkin, who finds the laser printer a most comfortable sleeping spot:
Good thing he's cute or that would be a real problem for him. As would this:
The comments from you lovely people who sent them in to Gmail:
From BlackSheep01:
With this comment, Ijfromga NAILS British Petroleum in the BP's Disaster in the Gulf Isle of Caprice Edition.
In beatpanda's diary, "Joe Barton is probably not stupid. Really," here, is The Truth About Joe Biden. It might also be the comment of the year, I think. It comes from The Revenge of Shakshuka.
From renzo capetti:
In the normally vaudevillean post High Impact (of Jan F's today) notjotterland chaos nethersphere comment thread, the amazing sardonyx quips the right fantastic response to Trashy (who lost his 'r'.). (good to see if you're running low on silly)
And, in a funny twist of fate ...
From JanF:
This comment by renzo capetti in my NOT jotter diary this morning mocks LaughingPlanet for his complaint about the size of his impact in the NOT jotter High Impact Diary table. And then renzo mocks himself for being...er...I'm sorry I forgot.
From BentLiberal:
In AnnetteK's Brits Toast Tony Hayward!, SJPT asks a "heated" question about English Muffins.
From mem from somerville:
This made my night: Nailbanger observes an unexpected source of population control. (Diarist most certainly agrees!)
My picks:
im a frayed knot suggests some fun at tea parties, and Greek Goddess foozled them with facts.
What American products do you buy? publicv notes that they can be very hard to find. The followup comments are also worth reading.
In the same (her own) diary, Angie in WA State tells us how to ding Walmart. Bwahahaha!
I think LancyBoyle is spot on with this analysis of AZ SB1070.
Top Mojo is provided by our TC historian and data dude, sardonyx.
