So this morning I announced on my Live Journal that I was going to give Kerry fifty bucks if he's the nominee, because he's taking a stand against the Musgrave Amendment. One of my readers replied:
I came across an article from a gay news source this morning. I'd be curious to get your reaction to it. The way the incident is reported makes it sound like Kerry is not so strong on his stand against the ammendment. Thoughts?

It seems to me that Kerry isn't doing himself any favors here. The people who don't favor this Amendment are already against him because of his
opposition to gay marriage in Massachussets (
example), while the GOP has plenty of ammo to paint Kerry as a pro-gay extremist.
And thus my problem: how do I sell Kerry to the gay rights crowd? Right now they're looking at him and from what I'm seeing, they are unimpressed. With Dean, at least, they respected him for signing the civil unions bill. My fear is that a lot of these folks are going to vote third party or sit this one out if Kerry is the nominee.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
