Just a couple of points I thought of in the elevator:
- ) Has anyone since McGovern actually run for President by opposing a war? Or did that just scare everyone off by the theory if something didn't work once it'll never work again?
- ) Dean's stance at the moment is not anti-war. It seems more like Nixon's "Peace with Honor." Bush's role in this seems more like an LBJ thing, and he keeps articulating a modern version of Barry Goldwater.
Just some random thoughts I thought I'd toss out...
