Just unconscionable. Major General William Webster actually justifies the further troop presense through the most reprehensible form of logic possible.
"Setting a date would mean that the 221 soldiers I've lost this year, that their lives will have been lost in vain," said Maj. Gen. William Webster of the 3rd Infantry Division.
You have got to be kidding me. This logic has no end. So we should spend another 200 or so soldiers to justify the deaths of the prior?
And next year we will hear that we cannot pull out because that would mean that "441 soldiers would have lost their lives in vain".
I am among the more conservative folks on this blog, and I am sickened to despair.
