Every evening during the Democratic National Convention, Mrs. Sinfonian and I sat down to watch the key speeches: Kennedy, Carter, Clinton, Dean, Obama, Granholm (our former gov and a household favorite), Gore, Edwards, Kerry, and so on. We made sure to watch C-SPAN for a feed uncluttered by commentary (especially of the undesirable kind).
However, with the GOP convention-cum-circle-jerk right around the corner (turning the corner?), I still haven't decided whether or not to watch. My stress level tangibly increases - pulse rate and respiration up, headaches, and so on - whenever I listen to Bush and his lackeys. So, I'm not sure I can stand to hear what they have to say - quite literally. On the other hand, it's good to "keep your friends close and your enemies closer," and it would be instructive to see how they plan to implement their strategery.
Should I watch, even if it's painful (literally or otherwise)? Are you planning to watch? Please help me decide ...
