So, maybe it's just a bay area thing (I hope!) but has
Lyndon Larouche's presence been felt more lately? His organizers seem like they are everywhere here, or at least everywhere I am.
Just today after getting off of the BART (our subway kind of system here), I saw a Larouche supporter setting up a recruitment table that said something along the lines of:
"Are you part of the $x.xx national debt, do your part for the new economy, elect Lyndon Larouche the new FDR."
A very funny statement on many levels.
Seriously though i'm all for freedom of speech and supporting whoever you want but...
when it comes down to it, i've tried to wade through Larouche's policies and what I can figure out seems totally crackpot and the rest impenetrable, so i'm a little worried that this borderline cultist is having such a strong presence here. Is it happening everywhere?
Scarilly enough 4 Larouchians were elected to the Dem Committee in Alameda county, proving once again that most people don't even pay attention to races on such a small level.
There was an interesting article in the eastbayexpress about that.
Now granted, Larouche has, in the past, been for me nothing more then a novelty, but is kind of scary in a certain way. Is it happening anywhere else?
