Diaries can go by pretty fast at Kos. I've read good ones that seem to have gotten little notice and then they disappear from the front page. I've written some that I think fall into the same category - pretty good, but little noticed or commented on.
So, I've got an idea. I'm going to link a diary I've already posted. People can read it and comment on it. At the same time if you've written or read a diary that you think deserves a second look feel free to link it to this thread.
I'm going
to start with `Fix bayonets'. It's a parable comparing the Battle of Little Round Top at Gettysburg to the political battle for the control of Congress in 2006. At Gettysburg, the Union troops of the 20th Maine were about to be overrun. Caution and even retreat seemed the wise move.
The link below the fold:
However, the 20th Maine was led by an extraordinary commander Joshua L Chamberlain, who correctly realized the winning strategy. The Rebs were making a final attack, but they were exhausted. Chamberlain knew a forceful attack could win the battle and sweep the Rebs from the field.
Today a forceful attack could sweep the Republicans from control of congress. Russ Feingold is looking a lot like Joshua Chamberlain.
So read and feel free to repost your favorites:
