In a development apparently related to GOP leader John Boehner's announcement that he would in fact hold President Obama's middle-class tax cuts hostage, the following ransom note has been made public:
Authorities refused to comment on-the-record, but an official close to the investigation said the words appear to come from cut up copies of The Weekly Standard.
To give you an idea how extreme their position is, even Joe Lieberman -- who favors permanent extension of the Obama cuts and a temporary extension of the Bush cuts -- has pledged he will not hold the tax cuts hostage. Nonetheless, just today on the pages of the Wall Street Journal, Eric Cantor, the number two Republican, once again pledged that the GOP would hold the tax cuts hostage.
