John Kerry
is the new Democratic front-runner, the question is:
Can he beat Bush?
The main issues in this election:
Health Care: 41 million Americans don't have health insurance
Jobs: 3 million jobs have been lost under George W Bush
Executive Experience: Which candidate can best lead American policy?
Foreign Policy Judgment: Which candidate can best handle problems abroad?
In over 15 years of service in the US Senate, despite accumulating one of the most liberal voting records in Washington, Kerry has:
ü Never delivered Health Insurance
ü Never balanced a Budget
ü Never helped draft or sponsor any bill that created jobs
ü Never passed any meaningful campaign finance reform to get corporate special interests out of our government
ü Never showed good foreign policy judgment (he voted against the first gulf war, but for the second one... go figure)

It takes more than a nice speech, a smile, and wave to win over swing voters. They care about leadership and results. Though he is not a bad person, Kerry has neither of these to offer. He comes across as being a wishy-washy, aloof, and arrogant east coast liberal who is all talk and no action. His war veteran status does little to fix this. The last time a Senator and war veteran ran against an incumbent president was 1996, and we all know that Bob Dole lost that one.
Kerry recently adopted a platform of ending special interest control of our government, copying the long-time campaign centerpiece of Gov. Howard Dean. Its hard to believe Kerry is sincere when he is the one Democratic candidate with the most campaign contributions from corporate executives and managers.
There is no way Kerry can beat Bush. His speeches are boring and uninspiring, and he gives voters little reason to vote for him rather than Bush. He is masterful at coming down clearly on both sides of a single issue (most people call it waffling) In addition, he doesn't have the credibility to criticize Bush on his major failures since Kerry voted for nearly every one of them, including:
ü The Patriot Act
ü The War in Iraq
ü Tax cuts for the wealthy and failed economic plan
ü The "No Child Left Behind Act"
It takes courage and leadership to win the election. Kerry has neither of these qualities. He has spent too much time in Washington to be able to offer anything fresh or new. The Democrats need a leader who can offer a clear alternative to the last four years, and Kerry is not that person.
A vote for Kerry is a vote for Bush
