It really boggles the mind. Particularly if you consider that Democrats don't criticize Republicans with the kind of ferocity they are attacking Dean.
Reading through the diaries, I have seen bloggers (mainly Clark and Kerry supporters) compare Dean to Nixon during the Watergate break-in. This makes me sick, because if you think a pranky incident by one campaign volunteer equals what Nixon did in '72, then you need a history lesson. It devalues how wretched Nixon was, makes him sound like he didn't do much of anything wrong.
Personally, I think I am giving up on the Democratic Party. I could live with Dean or Edwards or Braun as the nominee, but the rest of them are sleazy politicians who will do anything to win. I won't vote for Kerry, Clark, Geph, any of them, if they are the nominee. Kerry is behaving borderline insane, Geph is making a fool of himself (it's a shame he didn't go after Gingrich with the strength he is going after Dean... we might have won back the House), and Clark and his supporters employ too many Republican tactics (one recently told me to "love it or leave it," and referred to Dean as "the draft-dodger.")
It will be impossible to unify the party.
