*DOUBLE HEADLINE*
CA-50 may be "dead" to Stephen Colbert on Comedy Central, but most of the rest of the country is watching this district fairly closely. After Duke Cunningham was disgraced, a house race has emerged that is very closely contested. Russ Warner, who is running for the house in CA-26 is putting together a road trip to help a Democrat running in the 50th: something that has rarely happened in California during the Midterms before.
More than just eliciting our hopes at the beginning of his 15 minute speech, Russ's warnings seemed appropriate no matter what angle you were looking at them from. His optomism and realism combined on Saturday to make a very wise- politically and in general- speech that spoke to all of us... and made us slightly more aware of what's happening in this country.
Russ feels like he now has the rescources and street-cred to take on this enormous task during a close election season. The headquarters' opening was a great success with 100 people in attendence. Russ's speech was a "glass quarter full" speech- so to speak: along with general optomism about the country as a whole, the speech also contained fear- fear of what would happen if his own issues, such as education and elder care, are forgotten and left by the wayside by an uncaring House representative.
Russ Warner is traveling, on March 18th, to the 50th to support Francine Busby in her candidacy by raising money for a grassroots campaign, just like he's been doing in his own house race in CA-26 against David Dreier: a corrupt, gay Republican with his own anti-civil rights and anti-equality agenda.
Here's the press release for the road trip: Please volunteer! We need all the help you can offer, guys.

GET ON THE BUS WITH RUSS
-----------------------------------
Join Russ Warner, candidate for the 26th congressional district, as he travels to San Diego on March 18 in support of Francine Busby and helps to turn another California congressional district blue.
Russ Warner understands it will take a powerful grassroots ground operation to reach voters in Busby's predominantly Republican district, where she aims to replace disgraced Republican Congressman Randy "Duke" Cunningham, who resigned last November after admitting to taking $2.4 million in bribes from a defense contractor. The special election is April 11.
Russ Warner faces a similar challenge in his run against David Dreier, the chair of the House Rules Committee, who has built up a multi-million dollar war chest during his 26 years in office. Republican registration narrowly edges the registration of Democrats and declined to states in the 26th district, which extends more than 50 miles along the foothills from La Crescenta to Rancho Cucamonga.
The bus sponsored by Russ Warner for Congress will leave from the Rancho Cucamonga congressional campaign headquarters on Saturday, March 18 at 6 a.m. and make pick ups in Duarte, Norwalk, and Manhattan Beach. Travelers should expect to return home about 9 p.m. Snacks, drinks, and meals will be provided. Be sure to wear comfortable clothing that is appropriate for San Diego weather and comfortable walking shoes as many volunteers will precinct walk.
