Here's a list of House Democratic candidates for seats currently held by Republicans who've raised over $100,000 and whose 1st quarter filings are up on the FEC website (most, but not all are up-notable among those not up yet are John Cranley, Mary Jo Kilroy, Joe Sulzer, Joe Donnelly, Brad Ellsworth, Baron Hill, and Heath Shuler), how much they've raised, and how much they have left. The list and a little analysis are below the fold.
All values are in dollars.
Note: The first column (Raised) is how much the candidate had raised (including self-financing) during the 2005-2006 cycle at the end of the first quarter (3/31/2006). The second column (COH=Cash on Hand) is how much money the candidate had left to spend at the end of the first quarter. The third column (as requested by DavidNYC) is how much money the candidate raised (not including loans i.e. self-financing) from 1/01/2006 to 3/31/2006 (those with question marks in the third column did not file a report covering only the 1st quarter of 2006

Of those whose first quarter filings are not up yet, the leading Democratic candidate in every district listed as Toss-up, lean Republican, or likely Republican by Charlie Cook (I'm using this for brevity's sake) had raised $100,000 by their last filing. Tom Hayhurst(IN-3) had also raised over $100,000 as of his last filing.
Now just how good are these numbers? Well, let's compare how our candidates have raised so far this cycle (remember, they still have 7 months of fundraising to go) with how much our candidates last cycle raised overall. Remember to keep in mind that our candidates this cycle still have several months of fundraising to go.
Number of districts where
candidate raised at least
2006 2004
100,000 73 76
200,000 52 61
250,000 44 56
300,000 38 51
400,000 26 45
500,000 17 36
If each candidate raises double what they've raised so far (which I think is a relatively reasonable assumption), we'll be set.
Update: Women candidates sure have been doing well this quarter. 11 women ( Francine Busby, Darcy Burner, Gabrielle Giffords, Judy Feder, Lois Murphy, Kirsten Gillibrand, Linda Stender, Tessa Hafen, Tammy Duckworth, Patsy Madrid and Diane Farrell) raised over $250,000 last quarter. Only 8 male candidates for currently Republican-held seats raised that much (Joe Courtney, Chris Murphy, Ron Klein, Dan Seals, Ken Lucas, Joe Sestak, Patrick Murphy, and Nick Lampson).
