I saw
a letter in my local newspaper this past weekend, and I think it's a good sign. If this is the argument they're using, then they're in serious trouble...
Putting liberals over the barrel
Before the United States went to war the liberals opposed to it were saying "the only reason the U.S. is going to war is for Iraq oil."
Where is that oil today and why are oil prices so high? Come on; admit you liberals were wrong just one time.

WHEW! ...oh, damn that's funny.
Okay, Ken. You got me. You're right. I agree with you. In hindsight there was absolutely no justification for going to war with Iraq. There were no WMDs, there were no collaborative ties to Al Qaeda, and we didn't even get cheaper oil out of the deal. I thought the one thing I could count on was this administration's greed, and that greed would manifest itself in corporate cronyism leading to lower oil prices. But apparently Bush & Co aren't even smart enough to do the wrong things right, so I'll admit it. I was wrong. You are right. The whole thing has been a complete waste of time, money, and the precious blood of our fallen. You win.
Happy?
