I don't have a link to the story yet (I heard it on North Country PR on the way in to work this morning).
As far as I recall, he's been a fairly progressive republican in a Lincoln Chafee sort of way. For instance, he voted against impeaching Bill Clinton.
I'm wondering if there's a chance for a Democratice pick-up here. Anyone from the 29th have a feel for this?
Some of us DFA folks in the 20th are working on getting an opponent for John Sweeney (20th), despite the local Democratic Party's defeatist attitude about dislodging him. If nothing else, we can divert RNC resources towards fighting what they consider to be a sfae, non-contestable seat.
