McCain may deny it but what's this photo we've uncovered
that shows he's definitely part of the Bush family:

Bush Family Memories
Tue Mar 18, 2008 at 11:26:51 AM PDT
A dynasty is called a dynasty because it has a long history. And we shouldn't get sloppy and forget the history of American Dynasties like the House of Bush. When the past is held in mind simultaneous with the present, well, things smell different.
For example, J.P. Morgan is guaranteed a no fail purchase of Bear-Stearns.
Well, back in 1919 George Herbert Walker (the grandfather of...
Hillary Clinton Will Be A Disaster For The Democratic Party!

The Case Against Hillary Clinton
Being a good president means being able to make the correct decisions. It means having a vision of where you want the country to go that benefits the vast majority of Americans -- not the War Establishment, not the Banking Industry, not Transnational Corporations -- at the expense of the ordinary citizens. It means enhancing civil liberties, not depriving the public from them. It means not promoting false fears, false propaganda, and not accepting the NeoCon spoon-fed false framing of our National Security choices, which are dishonest, reckless, and incompetent -- as well as immoral. It means having both experience and a proven track record in dealing competently with crises. In short, being a good president means, most of all, having good judgment and genuine integrity.
John McCain and the S&L Debacle
Wed Feb 20, 2008 at 07:18:45 PM PDT
Charles Keating is a name that might not be familiar to many of the young people who read this blog. He was a towering figure during the Savings and Loan crisis of the 1980's when Ronald Reagan and George Herbert Walker Bush engaged in a black operation or unlawful military aggression in Central America. The cover story for the war in Central America was to stem the Communists..but we know that it was much more than that. It was about establishing a global drug trafficking network in which the United States is now one of the largest transit countries in the world. Drugs come to this country for distribution throughout the world.
Here is some original testimony from the Congressional Record that will describe to you the nature and enormity of the Savings and Loan scandal and why John McCain is the most vulnerable candidate the Republicans could have dug up to run this year.

Saudi Arabia's rulers threatened to make it easier for terrorists to attack !
Fri Feb 15, 2008 at 07:16:46 AM PDT
Today the Gardian http://www.guardian.co.uk/... is reporting Tony Blair and Great Britain for that matter was black mailed into ceasing the BEA weapons bride scandal investigation that hit the county recently. The Gardian wrote "Saudi Arabia's rulers threatened to make it easier for terrorists to attack London unless corruption investigations into their arms deals were halted, according to court documents revealed yesterday".
Republicans and Bootstraps
Fri Feb 01, 2008 at 10:23:19 AM PDT
One of the falsely claimed articles of faith of the Republican Party is the old "pull yourself up by your bootstraps" dictum. No governmental handouts. Rugged individualism. That kind of crapola.
So why, pray tell, do Republicans fly en masse into a hysterical bout of hissyfits when an upstart bootstrapper team like Bill and Hillary Rodham Clinton challenge the totally non-bootstrapped Bush Royal Dynasty?
It's Not a "Dynasty," Stupid!

In the jaws of the Liberal Paradox: a trashed Democratic Party vs. no win 3rd Parties
Thu Nov 15, 2007 at 11:59:03 AM PDT
Talk about being between a rock a a hard place! The jaws of the Liberal Paradox is being trapped between a garbage Democratic Party and absolutely no win 2008 3rd Parties. We need a tertium quid, a third thing, and perhaps it is already cooking deep in the American psyche.
Robin Bush (1949-53) and her brother's veto of SCHIP
Tue Sep 25, 2007 at 06:36:23 AM PDT
This is one of the hardest diaries I've ever written.
And in all candor the fact that this needs to be said, and this diary needs to be written, is truly unspeakable. It should frighten all of us, that the American president is about to veto healthcare legislation for children and babies.
But this is our surreal American reality. This is the America George Bush and his gang of Republicans criminals have created.
You may remember that Mr. Bush had a beloved baby sister named Robin. Robin died in infancy. She had leukemia.
And in this diary, sadly I must invoke the memory of the death of Robin, the younger sister of Mr. Bush. This is the man who intends to veto a healthcare bill for children and babies just like Robin Bush.
But remember, Robin Bush was a lucky child. She was born into a very privileged special American family. As a member of this family, you get healthcare and your friends get healthcare.
Ever wonder what happens to Texas Democratic Oilmen?
Fri Sep 14, 2007 at 10:01:37 AM PDT
Ever wonder why you never hear about Texas Democratic oilmen? Well, they exist, but they always get the raw end of the deal with the Bush family. While I have my own reasons for liking the Hunt family, evil empire aside, but I am more amazed that no one ever says anything about the way people like Oscar Wyatt are treated.
Wyatt is a also a self-made oil tycoon, but he has two strikes against him: he is a Democrat, and he is anti-war. So now that you have all ready about Mr. Hunt is being treated by the Bush Administration, let's see how the cards fall for Oscar.
Cheney's coup? "Secretary of General Affairs" (& Mondale)
Sun Jul 29, 2007 at 02:19:39 PM PDT
This puts together two recent news threads, in hopes someone else will be inspired to write more on this.
(1) In 1933-34, Prescott Bush allegedly had a minor role in a conspiracy to install a "secretary of general welfare" who would in effect be more powerful than the US President. Wealthy financiers backed by the DuPonts, JP Morgan, Remington Arms, Bush's Hamburg-America Line, etc. approached General Smedley Butler to lead 500,000 troops in this explicitly pro-fascist de facto coup. BBC recently had a story on this (click on audio link), Wikisource has General Butler's original Congressional testimony, and of course Wikipedians work on this "business plot" story. Most readers have at least heard of it, though the details are fuzzy as to how serious and how far along it went.
(2) Today, former VP Walter Mondale has a scathing critique of Cheney in the Washington Post: "Answering to No One"
BBC: Bush's Grandfather Planned Fascist Coup In America

I found this in one of my other blogs. It was not a pretty read, and had me a little more nervous than I was before.
I make no claim to the ownership of this work; it is taken from the informationliberation.com site. I was made aware of this thanks to UKLibDem from the NewsHounds O/T Forums.

Barney the dog, in the Lead - Or How the White House Trivializes Governance
Thu Jul 05, 2007 at 02:34:44 PM PDT
I visited our White House Internet site and came across a section devoted to the President's dog to be encountered when one is searching for papers, documents and other serious material.
I did stop. I wondered how many could tolerate an entire section of an official Government site devoted to a dog? And whether there is a message in that for a serious researcher beyond a tasteless joke.
Recalling the daily toll in Iraq, the nuclear developments in the Middle East, the starving Palestinians, the climate, the air, and much, much more, such trivialization of our White House and our Governance may seem to many repugnant and beneath comment!
Mr. President: I hate to think that your dog is a member of your team. I shudder at the thought that this is an insight in Government for those who elected you and those who did not. Please remove this section. It is not worthy of the office the people bestowed upon you!
War Profiteers, Carlyle Group, wanting to buy Virgin Media
Mon Jul 02, 2007 at 06:00:36 AM PDT
It's being reported in today's New York Times that
The Carlyle Group is in discussions with Virgin Media, the British cable company whose largest investor is Richard Branson, over a potential bid worth around $20 billion, a person familiar with the negotiations said yesterday.
The talks are still early and may not lead to a bid, this person noted.
Let's hope that this doesn't happen.

"Practically Family" The Clintons and Bush (41)
Mon May 21, 2007 at 01:43:03 PM PDT
The Clintons and George H. W. Bush see themselves as "practically family". "When it comes to the first President Bush, both Clintons appear to have a soft spot, and the feeling seems mutual."
I find this unsettling.
According to Patrick Healy's story, "A Candidacy That May Test a Friendship’s Ties", in Friday's The New York Times:
Mr. Bush and Mr. Clinton have come to consider each other to be practically family, people close to them say, spending time together golfing, boating and kibitzing about foreign policy. And Mr. Bush is fond of Mrs. Clinton, his friends say: Not only does he like strong women, but he enjoys her sarcastic sense of humor, her quick way with a zinger and her shared interest in the nitty-gritty of international affairs.
Okay, yes both George H. W. Bush and Bill Clinton were successive presidents, and yes former presidents are members to a very exclusive club, but friendships rarely form between former presidents.
Resurrecting the Bush (Huge) Land-Acquisition-in-Paraguay Story
Fri Apr 27, 2007 at 11:54:04 PM PDT
The other day someone posted a one-liner (sorry, but can't remember where I saw it here) about the Bush family buying a hefty parcel of land in Paraguay. That got the investigative juices flowing; several hours later the story keeps twisting and turning, like floating down a lazy dark Amazonian river--in fact, this is a humdinger. This is hardly an original topic, as Wonkette did some excellent blogging about it on October 18, 2006, but research presented additional food-for-thought. I thought in light of accellerating GOP corruption and scandals, it was probably a good idea to go ahead and resurrect the story.
Why would Bush want to live in Paraguay, you ask? Well, turns out it could be for a couple of very good reasons.
Birthday Cards For Osama!
Sat Mar 10, 2007 at 08:29:18 PM PDT
50 orbits around the sun in one's life is a major touchstone that should be acknowledged.
It'll be a little late, I know, but I propose that we all send a birthday card to Mr. bin Laden.
Only, let's send them to the White House and ask them to forward Osama's mail to him.
Something tells me someone in the Bush family knows someone in the bin Laden family who knows where Osama is, don't you?
