Yeah, we know, the OFA lists are targeted towards new voters from 2008 and supporters who are less likely to vote (so F*** that NPR story about the PEW poll that said more Republicans than Democrats report being contacted this election because the GOP are calling anybody). And yes, technologically speaking, the OFA voting tool is totally BAD ASS. But seriously, that script they give you is way f***ing long, and also sucks. So, you want a take-no-prisoners approach to that high-tech campaigning weapon? Oh yeah, you want to join the Kossack 500 Club by making 500 calls for candidates before November 2nd. Maybe you're a little cocky, and you think you can make it to 1000. I know I am. So here's how you EVISCERATE THE OFA CALLING TOOL!!!

FiveThirtyEight’s model now predicts there is a 98% chance that MikeRayinBerkeley busts his ass for Democrats before November 2nd, up incrementally from 94% percent last week. Some of this high percentage can be explained by the so-called "superbowl effect" in which people who are somewhat disconnected from a long, drawn-out contest become keenly interested in the final stages of a championship game.

"Tell General Huffington I know her heart. What she and Michael Moore and Cenk and Jane and fair deaniac83 and good Cedwyn told me before, I have it in my heart. But I am tired of fighting on a blog about things that won't help elect more Democrats this November 2nd. It is the young men and women and all the new voters from 2008 who will decide our fate. The Great Pundits in Washington say we have already lost, but they who led the young men and women to victory in 2008, Chief Plouffe and Obama, they are asking us to help get the new voters out so we can kick Republican ass."

So I ask you, have we already lost?

This is a short diary, but I wonder if this idea has been considered.

Has anybody thought of rolling healthcare reform and entitlement reform together in this way?

Allow a wide swath of people to buy into Medicare, say, anybody over 55 and under 65, and any family whose income is equal to or less than five times the poverty level. The rate paid to doctors could be at Medicare rates plus 5% or perhaps a bit higher.

Apply a tax to the plan to the tune of 2% to 5%. All proceeds from this tax would go to the "free" Medicare for seniors above 65 years.

So, I'm not sure how to solicit money for Barack, though I have an email list that I send political updates to. How do I get those friends and family members who have been sitting on the sidelines in terms of showing financial support, but are actually Obama supporters, to go to their computers and donate? Well, here's what I'm doing.

Update Note: I decided to repost this because the original post, as Finck II pointed out, contained a misconception: that the stated goal of the Virginia Gabriel Vote was to kill civilians, when in fact the goal was to take the Virginia Governor hostage, and force him to declare and end to slavery. In the current post, it is only Ben Ambinder, of Politicon.com, who seems to think the rebels intended to kill "hundreds" of civilians.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s praise of Barack Obama has set off a political firestorm and cast into doubt the Illinois Senator’s candidacy. "Barack Obama's speeches are more powerful than a nuclear bomb," remarked Ahmadinejad in a special press briefing,"He is like the second black thunder."

Ahmadinejad’s "black thunder" comment was apparently a reference to the Harlem Renaissance classic of the same name, written by Arna Bontemps in 1936. Ahmadinejad’s "black thunder" comment was apparently a reference to the Harlem Renaissance classic of the same name, written by Arna Bontemps in 1936. It recounts the deeds of a group of radical black terrorists led by Gabriel Prossier in Virginia in the year 1800. The terrorists very nearly took over the governorship of Virginia, but were foiled by a storm the night of their attempt.

Now, questions are arising about whether Obama has done enough to distance himself from Prossier, and many see Obama’s relationship with Prossier as a liability in the general election, should he ultimately prevail against Senator Clinton.
