I hope this isn’t too much of a downer, but I wanted to make this diary about our beloved pets who are no longer with us, and invite you all to share pictures and loving memories. It does not have to be entirely about those who are deceased, but also those who have moved on to other forever homes. Some are with us only a short time, but they still touch our lives and leave us with warm and loving memories. This is my first attempt at a diary in the newfangled DKOS, so I hope it turns out all right. Of course, the usual rules apply:
- Be nice to each other.
- No trolling the diary.
- If you hate pootie diaries or just want to complain, leave now.
- Share any and all pootie/woozle photos or issues that you would like to. When it comes to problems, we may just have someone with experience who can help.
- Whatever happens in the outer blog STAYS in the outer blog. Bringing that stuff in here will be dealt with the same way we deal with trolls. I WILL ALWAYS BACK MY PEEPS BEFORE ANYONE ELSE!
- Also, there is no such thing as stealing a photo around here, all are offered with love and may be borrowed with just as much love.
- I can NOT believe that I need to say this, however ANY/ALL photos that imply or encourage human violence against an animal will be considered verboten! Whether it is “comedic” or not, it will be frowned upon and considered out of bounds.

Though we had many other pooties before, the first one I have digital pictures of is Maggie, who was with us for almost 20 years.
Then there was our dear Edmund, who unfortunately died suddenly at a young age, of a heart problem.
You have all heard the tale of how our Mama Mia came into our lives, and blessed us with her cute kitten brood. We never knew how old she was, because we rescued her when she was quite pregnant, but she lived with us for many years, and brought love & warmth into our home.
Her daughters Addie & Shiner still share our home, but her other daughter, Borghilde, and her two sons, Panda & Jay, moved on to other forever homes, and sadly, Borghilde has since passed away. I used to use this picture of her & her brother as my Tip Jar (when you could still do that):
Then, of course, a big stripey cat started hanging around our house, we took to feeding him, named him (with a lack of imagination) “Stripey”, and he became our first “porch pootie”. We gained his trust, promptly abused it by getting him fixed, and he eventually became a loving, trusting house cat. He has since passed away, and we miss him and his love.
Then there was Rudy, named after Rudolph Valentino because he was such a lover cat. He had apparently been abandoned near us, but when he showed up he just waltzed into our house and made himself at home. Our other pooties could not stand him, however (and at the time we already had 4), so we found him another forever home. This story has a happy ending, since a friend of ours’ elderly mother was in need of a loving companion, and they are now living happily together!
There was another cat who came by and was briefly a part-time porch pootie, but was only with us for a very few months. We are pretty sure she had a home elsewhere, and hope she is back there, safe & sound.
Last, but not least of course, there was Mott. He was a favorite here, and although we were never able to gain his confidence like we were with Stripey, for the few years he lived on our porch, he warmed our hearts and brought smiles to many here on the intertoobz.
So please share your own memories here of the pooties, woozles, and other departed critturs who have touched your hearts, and given you warm and happy memories.
