Will the world be a better place for our having lived in it. No, I don't think so either. But it could be. What should we press for to make it so?
This is the 48th chapter of the Utopia/Dystopia series. The fictional story follows one character in two possible futures. In Utopia Jack Randell is an educator in a world recovering from global warming. In Dystopia global warming has been allowed to careen out of control and DJ is in a fight for his own survival. The story is always followed by a nonfiction discussion of the concepts that lead to the plot.
This week in the conclusion of Utopia, Jack starts anew.
The nonfiction portion of the text (scan to the end of the story) revisits one of the suggestions I made early on in the Utopia series about renewable energy and transportation and investigates how that would effect our economy now.
Next week will be the conclusion of the Dystopia part of the series.
As always you can see a souped up version of the post with pix, links and reading lists at my blog.
