This is the 36th chapter of the Utopia/Dystopia series. The story follows one character in two possible futures. In Utopia Jack Randell is an educator in a world recovering from global warming. In Dystopia global warming has been allowed to careen out of control and DJ is in a fight for his own survival. The story is always followed by a nonfiction discussion of the concepts that lead to the plot.
This week in Utopia, Jack awakens to discover himself and his class in the Long Now.
The nonfiction portion of the text discusses well what else, the real Long Now, our inability to care for the future, Obama's many failures, Congress' many failure, just how much welfare bank CEOs are receiving, and drug use by the Supreme Court Justices.
As always you can see a souped up version of the post with pix, links and reading lists at my blog.
