I'm not one of those "I told you so" people but, after the lashings I've been taking here defending the President's economic accomplishments, please excuse a little gloating today. As you may have heard, the Commerce Department announced today that economic growth this past quarter was the strongest in more than six years - 5.7%. This is an improvement over the 2.2% growth registered in the third quarter of last year. As we all know, or should know, strong economic growth is the prerequisite to job growth. It typically takes a few quarters of economic growth before employers begin feeling comfortable about hiring again. Well, now we're seeing that strong economic growth and, if history is any guide, we should shortly begin to see a definite pickup in employment.
