Alaska Governor Sean Parnell has introduced a bill which would effectively do away with an Alaska Supreme Court decision which states retroactive application of the sex offender registry requirements is unconstitutional.

Congressional Hearing - March 10, 2009

On Tuesday, March 10, 2009, Congress will be holding a hearing on implementation of the Adam Walsh Act. This is a great opportunity to establish contact with each our individual congress persons.

This is the time to tell our individual congress persons about problems which we or our family or friends have encountered with sex offender registration. The unintended and counterproductive consequences of sex offender registration should be emphasized.

The fact that there is no evidence that sex offender registration has done anything to reduce sexual abuse should be stressed. As support for this last point congress persons or their staff should be encouraged to read the recent report of the New Jersey Department of Corrections, funded by the U.S. Department of Justice under the Bush Administration. A copy of this report is attached. In his inaugural speech

President Obama said:
"The question we ask today is not whether our government is too big or too small, but whether it works — whether it helps families find jobs at a decent wage, care they can afford, a retirement that is dignified. Where the answer is yes, we intend to move forward. Where the answer is no, programs will end."

If the United States Constitution clearly states something as being forbidden, why is it that even governors are able to circumvent being found guilty of violating their oath of office when they enact or allow laws which clearly violate the constitution?

In a simple way of looking at things, when an article in the constitution, such as

Article 1, Section 9

No bill of attainder or ex post facto law shall be passed.

It would seem to mean that no one, not a judge, not congress, not even the president of the United States of America can pass neither a bill of attainder nor an ex post facto law.

If a person honors and upholds the constitution, then they would be barred totally from enacting any sort of ex post facto law or bill of attainder.

OMG!

But, as part of the plea deal, prosecutors are dropping all five sexual abuse charges, for which, if convicted, he may have been required to register as a sex offender.

And, in the most outrageous concession, prosecutors apparently allowed the federal judge to end his lifetime appointment by retiring instead of forcing him to resign. That may allow Kent to stay on the payroll even after he’s left the bench

I recently came across an article which told of a mother and her husband who had taken photos of the mother breastfeeding her baby and took the film to be developed at a local store. The film worker called the police and reported the photos as Child Pornography.

I was amazed to read on and find out that the children of this couple were taken away by local authorities. Read On.

Sweeping the nation is a new trend to get tough on crime by banishing those who are labeled sex offender.

In 2006, Alberto Gonzales was the Attorney General. The President was George Bush. These two government officials had little respect for the United states Constitution and thus passed the Adam Walsh Act and applied it Retroactively, (Ex Post Facto). This violated Article 1, Section 9 of he United States Constitution which states: "No bill of attainder or ex post facto law shall be passed".
