Now you've done it, Kossacks. You've gone and put smiles on faces and joy in hearts. You've doled out hope and encouragement in spades. You've spoken loud and clear and without hesitation that here, in this rambunctious and often contentious community, people still matter. You've astonished everyone with your incredible generosity and demonstrative commitment to each other but it should surprise no one. Anyone paying attention already knows that when it comes to caring about others and reaching out to friends and neighbors, acquaintances and total strangers on this site and elsewhere, Kossacks walk the talk.
In droves.
How often on this site do we get to say 'no one could have predicted' and have it be about something wonderful and positive that is taking place around us instead of something disastrous and horrible? How often do we get to be a part of something that is truly spontaneous which benefits so many? And how often do we get to be a part of something that has brought so much joy and happiness to so many in such a short period of time?
Yet here we are, in the midst of these challenging economic times, fortunate to be able to acknowledge that at least when we fail at 'no one could have predicted' it's only because the reality proved even better than anyone's wildest expectations. Liberals are really cool that way.
Your generosity, kindness, and thoughtfulness during the lifetime subscription drive has touched the hearts and lifted the spirits of countless fellow Kossacks. The response from those receiving lifetime gift subscriptions has ranged from humble and incredulous to ecstatic and overjoyed. DailyKos of late has been filled with diary after diary graciously expressing heartfelt gratitude and emotional appreciation for the outpouring of meaningful support and sincere goodwill that has flowed abundantly from this site during one of the most stressful times of the year.
Yes, you've really done it this time Kossacks but there's still more to do!
