I haven't seen anyone comment on this, and please have pity on a first time diarist... but did anyone see this MTV Choose or Lose interview with Clinton and young Vets?
In it Clinton says the following:
My view of this ...is that the Iraqis have been given the most precious gift that anybody can give another human being. And you all were part of producing and delivering that gift. They’ve been given the gift of freedom.
Does this disturb anyone else? Granted she is playing to the crowd here. But Clinton asserts on the campaign trail that there's no difference between her and Barack's position on the War since the time they've both been in the Senate. And while she gives the usual talking points on withdrawal, it is clear to me she still doesn't get it. The "gift of freedom"? Really? Shouldn't the answer be that we made a mistake going in, it's a disaster, and we have to be careful in our plan to get out? Sounds like she is giving the John McCain "bad execution" argument.
