Say you do your tour in Iraq, and you are lucky enough not to come back injured and have to face the still broken VA's hospital system stateside. Say you also come back with all your marbles intact after seeing the hell on earth that is war. Say you even have plans to get a better education when you get home, to make more of yourself after you have given everything of yourself to your country. Well, guess what, you are still screwed.

In yet another brilliant move in assholery, National Guard troops are being denied benefits after the longest deployment of any ground combat unit in the Iraq War. This unit, the 2,600 member strong Minnesota National Guard (Is it me, or is the GOP really trying to piss off their convention state?), was in Iraq for 22 months after being kept there for President Bush's surge.

But when they got home, they had a special kiss of fuck-offedness from the Bush Administration and the Army. The troops are now being denied their GI Bills for furthering their education. See, their orders were written for 729 days, had their orders been written for 730 days, just one more day, they would have qualified.

As you know, I don't like John Edwards. See, I have a bless/curse of a photographic memory. I remember John Edwards, from when he entered the national stage taking the deposition in the Lewinsky fiasco during the Clinton Administration, to his cheerleading for the war in 2002. I also remember his platforms from 2004, which is why I am shocked he has reinvented himself once again.

But when he decided he wanted to be a populist this election cycle, I took that shit personally. The Farmer's Alliance started in Lampasas, Texas in 1876, which later evolved in the Populist Party. So yeah, you could say I have little emotional attachment to the name. That is why I refuse to allow this pretender advance towards the throne.

Nothing sums up better some of the issues I have with John Edwards, than this interview on Meet the Press. When called to the mat for his constant reinventions as a candidate, he stands by his record, even though that does not reflect his rhetoric today. I have no idea why anyone would believe a word he says after this:

It official! US Dollar has gone Loonie!

I have been waiting and watching this debacle for months, wondering if our dollar can go Loonie, and it has! It's official folk!

This morning, 1 U.S Dollar was officially traded at 1 Canadian dollar. Thought it has returned to 1 USA = 1.00155 CAD, for a magical moment, the dollar was Loonie. God bless that Fed hike! I knew our dollar was weak, but that really shot it in the knee to take it down to the point our coinage is equal to that of our northern border friends! Let the foreign reserve sell off begin!

City Dog Catcher of Reno, NV Endorses Mike Gravel

Reno, NV - Local Dog Catcher Joe Karren has announced he will be endorsing Democratic Nominee hopeful Mike Gravel. He even called the campaign headquarters himself to let them know he was firmly in their camp and planned on a press conference at the local diner, Angie's Spot, to formally announce.

"I was shocked Mr. Gravel picked up the phone," said Karren, whose support is supposed to bring in at least 2 votes for the Gravel ticket. "Even more shocking was when he said he would actually show up to my presser. I was just joking, I was really just going for a cup of coffee. But now he is coming, I feel like I gotta get a banner or something."

"It's about meeting the people," said Mike Gravel, who once led a filibuster that led to the end of the Vietnam War, and who was shat upon at last summer's Yearly Kos. "About meeting one voter at a time."

If Gravel completes his quest to meet every voter in America, he will be prime to win the nomination in 3012.

This blood is on your, mine and every other American's hands until we stop this war. We are the barbarians at their gate, their new Khan knocking on their door. More Iraqis have now died than during the Rwanda genocide. What will history call this? We should be beyond ashamed, we should be hiding our face in horror from international view until we stop this war.

Ever wonder why you never hear about Texas Democratic oilmen? Well, they exist, but they always get the raw end of the deal with the Bush family. While I have my own reasons for liking the Hunt family, evil empire aside, but I am more amazed that no one ever says anything about the way people like Oscar Wyatt are treated.

Wyatt is a also a self-made oil tycoon, but he has two strikes against him: he is a Democrat, and he is anti-war. So now that you have all ready about Mr. Hunt is being treated by the Bush Administration, let's see how the cards fall for Oscar.

Kennebunkport, Maine - Dissent was the word of the day last week when Osama Bin Laden received his copy of the script for his video released last weekend. After what was described as near total meltdown in his trailer on-location in Kennebunkport, Maine, Bin Laden at first refused to shoot the latest installment of the War on Terror.

"This is always what happens when a show fires its writers," said a distraught BIn Laden, who has captivated the country's fascination with his betrayal of a blood thirsty mullah. "I just knew when they let Karl Rove go, the quality of writing would just fall to the floor. I don't know whose ratings are going to be worse, President Bush's or ours."

You are nothing but an ATM to the Democratic Party. Daily Kos is a cash cow they pander to only during election years because of the money you can generate for their campaigns. And once you have secured their seats, they no longer return your calls, and your emails are returned with generated noreply responses. They do not care what you think, they only want you for your money.

Once they have what they want, they do not feel the need to comply with the wishes of the ones who sent them there. You are irrelevant in their eyes since they have no need for fund raising this year. If they cared, if they truly cared what the netroots wanted, they would act on the principles of those who canvassed, those who worked their phones, those who gave them money.

They don't. You are just a typing ATM machine to them, and nothing more.

Well, here is some interesting news, Univision has beat out all the other networks, FOX, ABC, CBS, NBC and CW for the coveted 18-34 demographic. While not exactly surprising with how the sociodemographics are trending in the United States of America, it is definitely a benchmark, an a benchmark that was just a matter of time.

This is also before the Presidential Debates in Spanish, so the quality programming on Univision cannot be discounted. Have you ever seen Sabado Gigante? You don't need to speak Spanish to enjoy that. Plus, even the The Soap agrees that soap operas on Univision are more entertaining than the usual ABC, NBC and CBS fare.

Mr. Reid, I know you are tired of getting these letters, but I offer you a ray of hope tonight. I offer you validation from the Republicans in their Presidential debate this evening. When you are looking for justification for bringing a plan to end the mistakes of the Iraq War to the Senate floor, look no further than presidential hopeful, Mike Huckabee and Ron Paul.

Now, truth be known, my guy in this fight is Ron Paul. And he, as I am sure you know, is against the war. Always has been. Well, tonight he got into a tangle with Huckabee as to if it is time to end this war. Huckabee, though a decent man, was using the old "you break it, you bought it" stance. Paul, as you know, is strict on the Constitution and wants out.
