It's Close In Ohio - Help is Needed

I have not posted this election cycle but have been very involved with President Obama's campaign as well as with other Democrats in Ohio. According to the campaign, the polls are very tight in Ohio. We will be working hard on GOTV, but I notice that people on this site assure themselves that we have a good ground game here. We do, but we always need more help!

I am in Central Ohio, in the suburbs, and the support for Romney is scary. People are much more vocal this year about their support for Romney than they were for McCain. Believe it or not, I do know a few undecided voters, but for the most part, the focus now has to be on GOTV. Not so much in my area (although that is important) but in the urban areas throughout the state.

I notice a lot of people worrying, which they should. But do something! Come to Ohio and help the campaign, even for a day, especially from Thursday through Tuesday, Election Day.

As they say in a football game, it is time to leave it all out on the field!

I hsve been asked to provide some links in this diary. Since I want to get everyone working who would be interested, I want to do so. But the only link I know of is Barackobama.com. Go to the volunteer page, put in an Ohio zip code near your location or where you would like to work, and you will find plenty of events and the OFA Office locations.

The poll is close. John McCain is winning. Please help by voting. We need to work together to do everything we can do to stop the perception of momentum. At this point, McCain's speech is perceived as 'doing a great job of selling his story.'

Please be patient with me, as this is my first diary.

Coming home at 4:15 today (Sunday). I heard an unbelievable statement on the radio- WLW-Cincinnati - a Clear Channel station. WLW is by far the largest radio station in the Cincinnati, Ohio area, with a powerful signal that broadcasts to the center of the state (Columbus) and also most of northern Kentucky.

A radio host, named Eric Deeters, whom I have never heard before, just stated that Barack Obama is a Muslim and did not swear allegiance to America on the Bible, but instead used the Koran. I know this is the subject of a 'stealth' e-mail campaign, but I could not believe that a radio station, with hundreds of thousands of listeners, would make such an untrue statement. Is there any recourse?

In light of all the other news today, this important news may have been missed. Today's Columbus Dispatch had a front page story about our lovely Governor. The headline "Taft forbids testimony in scandals lawsuit"

Taft has refused to testify under oath and has forbidden 5 of his current and former staff members to give depositions or release memos between his office and the Bureau of Worker's Compensation from 1998 - 2005. He is claiming executive privilege.

Have we heard that line before?

The best line in the front page story "What did Governor Taft know and when did he know it?"
