The Washington Post is reporting the outrageous news that the Trump administration is planning to return to his master Vlad the two estates seized by the Obama administration in retaliation for Russian meddling in the 2016 elections.
Then-President Barack Obama said Dec. 29 that the compounds were being “used by Russian personnel for intelligence-related purposes,” and gave Russia 24 hours to vacate them. Separately, Obama expelled from the United States what he said were 35 Russian “intelligence operatives.”

Now, you don’t have to be a guy with a PDB to figure that a large, isolated compound on the Eastern Shore of Maryland might be a handy place to debrief operatives, interrogate defectors, etc. etc. That the Russians have been using the Centerville house as a spy resort for decades should surprise no one who’s spent any time dealing with Russia’s (or anyone’s including our) incredibly varied “diplomatic” personnel.
Nor do you have to be Tom Clancy to see the value of a nice country place on Long Island with a nice ocean view, in visual and other electromagnetic line of sight to, say, passing Russian intelligence-gathering ships.
These properties are choice assets for Russia’s intelligence agencies and Obama knew exactly what he was doing when he yanked them away from Vladimir Purtin in retaliation for Russian penetration of the US political process.
And Donald Trump’s willingness to return them is a sign that, witting or not, he is nothing less than a fully-owned subsidiary of Putin’s intel apparatus.
When I hear Schindler’s lizards vow, “He will die in prison,” I pray they have the goods to back up their boast.
