On Fox News host Sean Hannity’s radio program last Friday, via Media Matters:
CALLER: I haven't heard an idea that I have, and I don't know if it's feasible or not. With the corruption in the Department of Justice, the people that are demanded to appear, they don't appear, they appear, they lie, everything that's going on with all the corruption -- what about -- does President Trump have the authority to do -- have the JAG in the military do a tribunal, and investigate the Department of Justice that way? Where Congress --
SEAN HANNITY (HOST): He actually does have that authority.
CALLER: -- apparently cannot do its job.
HANNITY: Well, it's the -- again, that would be within the realm of the executive branch of the government, which he is the head of. Yeah, he would. And look, I think the president has been -- look, he could have fired Mueller, he could -- and he could do it legally, Alan Dershowitz said it yesterday. He could fire Rosenstein, he could have done that at any point, he didn't.
Like previous Fox hosts, Hannity has a long history of both promoting and endorsing conspiracy theories, and as such has built an audience of “conservative” devotees willing to accept, as basic presumption, that investigators of Republicans are part of a vast “deep state” conspiracy forever plotting to block conservative ascendence by fabricating criminal charges against them.
If the only available response to such investigations is launching military tribunals to prosecute Trump’s perceived enemies, Hannity nods, “he actually does have that authority.”

BLAST FROM THE PAST
On this date at Daily Kos in 2002—The Bush Administration is out of control:
Bush is enraged that -- get this -- UN weapons inspectors are not finding any hidden weapons.
The lack of a confrontation thus far between Iraq and inspectors has the White House worried that the Iraqi president might be winning the early public relations battle by creating an impression that he is complying. Aides said those fears prompted the president and Vice President Dick Cheney to deliver separate speeches Monday casting doubt on Saddam's intentions.
How about this—if the Bush Administration has proof that Iraq is hidding weapons of mass destruction, then release this evidence! Otherwise, shut up. It's telling that the best the Bushies can do is whine:
A regime that fires upon American and British pilots is not taking the path of compliance. A regime that sends letters filled with protests and falsehoods is not taking the path of compliance," Bush said.
He was referring to Iraqi letters to the U.N. protesting terms of the resolution.
Oh no! Saddam is complaining about the terms of the resolution! What is Bush waiting for? Nuke the bastard?
Is Iraq impeding the inspectors? No. But they complained about them! The horror! The humanity!!!!
Jesus. The US is not just losing the PR war. It is being unmercifully slaughtered.
