Showing the momentum behind opposition to fossil fuel-driven politics, Sen. Amy Klobuchar became the 13th Democratic presidential candidate to pledge not to take fossil fuel industry money.
“I pledge not to take contributions over $200 from oil, gas, and coal industry lobbyists, executives or PACs and instead prioritize the health of our families, climate, and democracy over fossil fuel industry profits,” Klobuchar tweeted Monday.
Also signing the Sunrise Movement pledge are Pete Buttigieg, Tulsi Gabbard, Kirsten Gillibrand, Jay Inslee, Wayne Messam, Seth Moulton, Beto O’Rourke, Bernie Sanders, Eric Swalwell, Elizabeth Warren, Marianne Williamson, and Andrew Yang. That means Michael Bennet, Joe Biden, Cory Booker, Steve Bullock, Julián Castro, Bill de Blasio, John Delaney, Kamala Harris, John Hickenlooper, and Tim Ryan have yet to sign on.
