Back in July of last year, Ohio vice police arrested Stormy Daniels and two other women for violating state laws governing a strip tease show she was performing. Daniels, a high profile adult film star whose name recognition was even higher as she was suing President Donald Trump for defamation of character, and because Donald Trump is an all around dirt bag, was quickly released and all charges dropped. At the time the decision by undercover law enforcement to blow their cover of a “long term human trafficking operation,” by arresting someone over a misdemeanor offense seemed rather dubious. There was evidence that at least one of the officers involved in the sting operation was a huge Trump supporter.
Now, it’s being reported that five officers involved with this strange bit of fascism are facing internal disciplinary actions. In a video you can watch below, Columbus police chief Tom Quinlan says that, “five officers from the now-disbanded Vice section who are being departmentally charged this week include a commander, a lieutenant, a sergeant and two of the arresting officer. These officers violated our rules of conduct. The range of discipline for these officers can include a reprimand, a suspension, demotion, and or termination."
Chief Quinlan disbanded the vice unit in March, saying that his “analysis in disbanding the Vice Unit was that we had a failure of leadership there, a failure of supervision, so we had to fix that weakness or that vulnerability, and this Police And Community Together Team has done that.”
Daniels and her attorney filed a $2 million lawsuit against the Ohio police department. According to NBC News, that lawsuit includes the allegations that “all of the officers are registered Republicans, public supporters of Trump or both.” The two other women arrested along with Daniels also filed lawsuits against the department and settled for $150,000 this past January.
