Trump supporters who didn’t manage to make it to Thursday’s anti-impeachment protest are raging against a bus company, the deep state, and liberals for leaving them stranded—but the real problem is their own failure to pay for the needed buses. According to US Coachways, it all boils down to this: “unfortunately, payment is required.”
“The organizer only officially confirmed the buses at 3 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon, just hours before the first bus had to leave at 11:30 p.m,” a US Coachways executive told The Daily Beast. And when a protest organizer provided the company with a credit card, “unfortunately, her credit card kept declining.”
That’s not the story the Trump fans are telling, of course. “The company refused to work with folks,” said protest speaker and Pizzagate conspiracy theorist Jack Posobiec. “Deep state is diabolical,” one tweet alleged. “How corrupt can the Democrats be?” asked another. Because of course it’s easier to believe that what’s at work is a massive deep state-Democrats-bus company conspiracy rather than the basic capitalist principle that if you don’t pay, you don’t get buses to travel hundreds of miles for you.
