The House of Representatives voted 228 to 193 to appoint the team of impeachment managers announced Wednesday morning by Speaker Nancy Pelosi, which means sending the impeachment articles to the Senate. Former Republican Justin Amash of Michigan joined Democrats in voting for the resolution, and Democrat Collin Peterson of Minnesota joined Republicans in voting against it.
There will be an engrossment ceremony for Reps. Adam Schiff, Jerry Nadler, Zoe Lofgren, Val Demings, Jason Crow, Hakeem Jeffries, and Sylvia Garcia at 5 PM ET, and they are then expected to deliver the engrossment message and articles of impeachment to the Senate. At that point, things are in the hands of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, who is determined to get Donald Trump off the hook as quickly as possible.
