I will be occassionally promoting particularly good diary entries to the dKos homepage. Chris Bowers's "Empirical Cattle Calls" are good fun. His methodology for the rankings can be found here -- kos]
Dean: 100.00
Clark: 80.16
Lieberman: 62.40
Gephardt: 59.91
Kerry: 59.44
Edwards: 45.75
Kucinich: 15.96
Moseley-Braun: 13.86
Sharpton: 13.04
The largest trend over the past week has been the rise of Lieberman and the fall of Edwards. Lieberman has received a significant amount of press coverage over the past three days, and he is now less than $1M behind Edwards. Also, while Lieberman stays in the game in CA and NY, Edwards is playing absolutely nowhere outside of SC. To make matters worse, his media coverage has somehow fallen behind Kucinich's.
On a smaller scale, the most interesting trend of late has been the breakup of the Dean-Clark media monopoly. Just two weeks ago, they accounted for almost 2/3 of the coverage of the entire race, with Clark holding a significant advantage. Now, Dean has edged ahead of Clark in total coverage, and Gephardt has moved into a strong third place. Kerry and Lieberman are also doing better in this category than they have in weeks (or, in the case of Lieberman, ever). Here are the current media coverage rankings:
Dean: 100.00
Clark: 96.64
Gephardt: 79.21
Kerry: 71.68
Lieberman: 68.33
Kucinich: 53.49
Edwards: 45.63
Sharpton: 17.15
Moseley-Braun; 10.88
It would appear that while Dean and Clark remain the big stories, the media has grown bored with them being the only stories. These numbers bode well for Gephardt, Lieberman and Kucinich in the next set of national polls.
