In the post-debate thread, there was an interesting debate on what exactly Dean was for. Was he appealing to the anti-war crowd? He's obviously not a wild-eyed leftist.
The interesting thing about Dean, in my opinion, is although he's a moderate, I think that he realizes that what he's doing actually furthers the cause of a lot of more liberal people. He supports IRV, which will help the Green party. As well, he supports getting away from ideology, and actually doing some information gathering on issues such as medicinal marjiuana and the death penalty, which IMO should help those causes a whole lot.
A moderate who sees the policital climate swinging back, and is going to help it along?
Dean may be our best friend right now. (More so than someone who is actually more to the left, as Dean will put down the roots for these things a whole lot better than someone who is actually more comitted to the ideology.)
