Is anyone out there beyond the University of California system hearing about this? UAW Local 2865, which represents 11,000 teaching assistants, readers and tutors.
From the Daily Bruin:
According to a UAW statement, the UC has failed to address 64 previously filed unfair labor practices, in addition to continuing to commit them. The alleged practices include surface bargaining, the act of passing proposals back and forth without making real changes, and shifting justifications by the university.
Yet another strike in California. I'm curious what the perception is out there. (I'm an interested party -- I'm a head steward for the local at UCLA, and a phd student in computer science there.)
