From Dean to Jackson: How to Revitalize the Democratic Party (and save the country in the process!)

This is a very long post that I would like feedback on at different points. Thus, I am placing each of the five parts of the post in the comments section of this diary entry. If there is discussion on this entry, it will almost certainly separate the parts from one another. However, keep scrolling down and eventually you can find the entire thing.

Also, I should note that while I am a Dean supporter and while I feel Dean would be best suited to be the nominee this year and fill the role I describe below, this is a role that could be filled by some of the other Democratic candidates as well. However, win or lose, Dean has already made a major and positive impact on politics in this country. His place in history and the resulting benefit to the Democratic Party is secure.

Also, I should point out that there are many claims in this post that require citation. I left out citation, for now, because I wanted to keep the conversation on this topic informal. Also, I don't know how I would work footnotes in html, and I am kind of lazy.
