This is pure speculation on my part, but let's start assuming that Dean wins the nomination. We know that he has a great campaign but he is comparatively weak on the insider baseball of working Congress and the process plus he has a vulnerable flank on national security.
Now Gore has legislative experience as he was a Senator. He also has knowledge of the process as he has already been VP. He knows foreign policy inside and out and he can point to the Clinton success in Kosovo of how to run a war of choice correctly. He is also a Southern Moderate who has realized in the past two years that to beat Bush, you have to come out swinging.
What do you think?
