600 Iraqi Policeman Dead?

Salam (at Dear Raed http://dear_raed.blogspot.com/ ) points to a Azzaman news story claiming that 600 Iraqi policemen have been murdered since April.

I don't want to doubt the Arab media but this could be wrong. If it isn't wrong that's a shitload of dead Iraqi's. It points to the weakness of security on the ground in Iraq and the danger we face in turning security over to a unprotected, underfunded and inefficient police force.

Gaddam, Iraq is going to be a albitross for years, perhaps even decades to come.
