I've made my prediction, which I don't hold much stock in, over at the NH prediction contest/thread on the front page.
I'm not here to stand by those numbers (it's just fun unless you're running someone's campaign), but I do think that the race will tighten, and my guess reflects that.
I'm here to give my "NH wish".
My wish is that there will be a three way tie (all within a couple percentage), and I have some faith this can happen with Dean-Kerry-Edwards. This would ensure a week of vigerous debate with not much credibility available for "electability" issues, since by then all three are proven fighters, winning the hard ("real") way.
The reason I want this is the "winners" then have to focus on their opponents; each gets to raise issues the others are obliged to respond to so you get engaged politics and less strategy of exclusion because candidates can't get away with not taking an opponent seriously.
I'd rather see Clark in Kerry's place... I don't like the idea of Kerry winning, and I'm selfishly interested in a back and forth between candidates I prefer if possible. OTOH, I respect the democratic process and if Kerry wins I'm going to say he deserved it, barring some real nastiness.
fwiw: my guess-numbers are below... when made to give numbers I can't guess that Dean will make it all the way to tie. Also, I'm being hopeful for Clark, I have not noticed a trend that takes him up (the opposite actually).
Kerry 29
Dean 25
Edwards 20
Clark 20
Lieberman 5
Other 1
PS: re: "deserving it"... Kerry did a classic gamble on Iowa, and it paid off, you have to respect him and his organization for that, you really do.
