OK, many of us are bruised, discouraged, fuming mad, or filling out our visa applications to New Zealand. With the idea that a little humor never hurt anyone, I'm hereby suggesting a tin-foil hat thread. No idea is too crazy, far-fetched, paranoid, trivial, grandiose or silly here.
Here's mine for starters. I posted this in a diary that's already scrolled away so here goes again: Dean and family pack up their belongings and move back to New York to a nice little house on the Hudson River later this year. Then in 2006 he runs against Hillary for the Senate seat. Look at it this way: Dean and his wife were actually born and raised in NY, his policies are more in line with the state's electorate than Hill's increasingly hawkish stance (well, he might need to change his gun position for the NYC vote), and he's got an instant national fundraising base that rivals, or exceeds, hers. Plus the debates between the two would generate enough electricity to prevent blackouts in the City for a couple of years. Come 2008, the Deaniacs and the rest of the Democratic base are choking for clean air, protesting against the wars in Iran and North Korea and looking for jobs in the second Dubya recession. A Draft Dean 2008 movement springs up all across the country, powered by those folks feeling sheepish about having pulled the lever for the now definitively unelectable Kerry, Dean wins in a landslide.
Shine up that hat and give us your best shot!
