Sometimes the "NO money approach" does a candidate some good.
If helped Howard Dean do his homework and sharpen-up his image as a Democratic presidential candidate like the one we saw in the debate in South Carolina, which show us a better candidate who was more up to the task of running a nation. I still like the fighter in Howard Dean but I like a little more control in the fight and not the all-over-the place -- uncoordinated Howard Dean.
So I like the new, more disciplined Howard Dean - and I believe that most Americans understand it's fully okay to strongly debate John Kerry and they want Howard Dean to do that but to have ready any rebuttals required and THAT requires lots of time and lots of work. I must say too, that I really did not appreciate the way DNC Chairman, Terry McAuliffe front-loading the primaries this election cycle, which isn't allowing for sufficient time for voters to properly assess their candidates.
Howard wants to be president and I believe most people want a SERIOUS change in Washington and I know that Sen. John Kerry really does NOT represent that change:
NYT While Senator John Kerry regularly promises to stand up to "big corporations," his campaign has taken money from executives on Wall Street and those representing the telecommunications industry, which is under his purview in Congress. Mr. Kerry denounces President Bush for catering to the rich, but he has depended more heavily on affluent donors than the other leading Democrats except for another populist.
ABB (Anybody But Bush) will NOT solve anything in Washington because ABB changes nothing in our legislative branch, which is the biggest, most prevailing problem in Washington right now.

It has been said that the Republicans are acting like they have a huge majority in both the house and Senate but it ALSO can be said that the
Democrats are acting like they are a very tiny minority.
Howard Dean said he wanted to change the Democratic Party - That is an absolute people-- and it seems to me that there are enough conservatives that want a change in the Republican Party as well because of the GOP's very visible "out-of-control" spending problems so why isn't Howard Dean address all these problems?
WHAT is going on in Washington is NOT a battle between Republicans and Democrats, NO folks, it's battle between "We, the people" and an out-to-control and out-of-touch congress in Washington. It is a fight for the very soul of our democracy.
Howard Dean is still covering Democratic issues while a nation bleeds. Howard Dean is a doctor and somewhere in him I think that he cares a lot for people, ALL PEOPLE all races, all creeds, and all Parties because all people hurt and all people bleed.
The Howard Dean that I remember took his coat off and rolled up his sleeves and with his out-stretched arms he looked to me like a doctor that was about to deliver a new born baby or bring new life into the world but in a political sense, to breath new life into our very troubled democracy.
WHAT I want to know is where the hell is that Howard Dean?
Joe Trippi to his credit says the very same thing:
TRIPPI: Well, you know, George Bush is going to have $200 million. They have it. And they're using it now to hammer on the Democrats, whoever the presumptive nominee is going to end up being. We all sat around in a room and said how would do you -- how could you possibly match that kind of force? I mean, brute force and it's all by pioneers and rangers bundling hundreds of thousands and millions of dollars for the president. And there is only one way. It's a couple of million Americans giving $100. And that's the only way to do this. And if you can do it, you not only will change presidents, you'll change this country forever. You want to help here in this country? It's because the special interests stop it. And, you know, you want a balanced budget. You want real campaign finance reform. You want real policies. The only force in this country is the people. That's what the constitution says. And this is our shot. That's what I say.
Trippi's right, Howard Dean still doesn't quite get it, at least not completely for whatever reason. The nation needs a national leader not just a Democratic leader with Democratic issues but, rather a president with presidential issues that can heal a nation.
