Problem: Now that the internet is an important part of the political process how do we select new people in a democratic way? How do we decide who to vote for and who to contribute time and money to within seconds?
Solution: A political search engine.
How it would work: The search engine should have every progressive candidates name in it. The user types in whatever issue and a list of candidates appear with a statement saying if they are for or against an issue. For example if I type in gun control, every candidate who supports gun control should be on one side and every candidate against it on the other, each one giving a brief statement as to their reasoning, and ultimately a for or against symbol. Other issues, like their for or against the war on drugs should be searchable as well. Clicking on their reasoning should take you to their website which explains that opinion along with their other views in detail.
The search engine should allow you to do several basic things.
1. Search by state.
2. Search by issue.
3. Search by record in office.
These are the three basic things. The search engine would also be useful if it could display quotes, facts about the candidate, perhaps a bio.
