In an attempt to deflect universal scorn over his fraudulent campaign practices, Howard Dean has secured the endorsement of Iowa Senator Tom Harkin. Sources within the Democratic Party contend that Harkin is setting himself up to be a vice presidential nominee in 2008 after Dean loses in a landslide to President George W. Bush.
These sources also question Harkin's judgment and speculate that his refusal to inform his four senate colleagues also running for the presidency of his impending endorsement will harm the reputation of Iowa's senior senator and former presidential candidate.
