Former Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill is taking some shots at his former boss, Gerorge W. Bush in a new book that is coming out next week. O'Neill says that Bush was amazing disengaged during cabinet meetings and in one-on-one meetings. He say Bush did not encourage debate at all, and compared Bush to "...a blind man in a room full of deaf people".
O'Neill was fired from his post in December of 2002. He had a reputation for making off the cuff remarks that made the Bush administration squirm. O'Neill also publically questioned the wisdom of another round of tax cuts when the country was suffering growing deficits.
Is anyone here surprised that Bush is disengaged in cabinet and other meetings? Maybe he gets confused during the meetings.
