Let me first state that I wholeheartedly support John Kerry. I started out as an ABB and, as I got to know Senator Kerry better, found he was someone I could be proud to support. The addition of John Edwards to the ticket made things just that much better.
That said, does anyone else cringe when Kerry or Edwards begins talking about the cost of the abomination in Iraq, especially in general terms, and mentions the monetary cost first or the monetary cost only? I understand that the word cost leads one to think first of monetary cost, but my first thought is always the loss of life. We can figure out how to make more money, but those people, mostly kids, are lost forever. I have a 21 year-old son, so it's easy to put myself in the place of these grieving parents.
It's a small point, but I figure if it bugs me, it probably bugs others, and I don't even have a loved one over there.
